The Cerro Tortuguero Trail is located in only elevaation of the caribbean coast, called cerro Tortuguero, it has 119 meters above sea level.From the Mirador it is possible to observe one of the areas with the highest percentage of wetlands in the country, the Northeast Caribbean unit, In addition, Cerro Tortuguero is located within the Bar.ra del Colorado Refuge, to observe its natural beauty.
The ojective of the Trail is to give people the opportunity to get to know one of the most attractive landscape in our country.Going into nature, walking on a path built with tiles and at a sufficient elevation from the forest floor to have the least ecological impact.On the Cerro Tortuguero Trail you can see a lot of vegetation characteristic of the Costa Rican Caribbean, as well as fauna, especially beatiful birds.
The Cerro Tortuguero Trail is part of the one of ASVO´s projects which was developed since 2009 upon receiving from the Oxford Society Fundation the donation of a property ot two hectares of wooded land in Tortuguero, which the Station was created, of Research and Education Robles-Kaufamn.
The Robles- Kaufman Station´s mission is to the protect a sector of the forest that functions as a buffer zone for the Tortuguero National Park, the development of research and the awareness of the Tortuguero population on environmental issues, to achieve the mission there are different activities.
